A little movement. A lot of care.No competition, rushing or pressure to be the best.
Why make room for movement?

Between lessons,
make space
to move.

Desks, homework, screens… A child’s day can easily turn into hours of sitting.

We want movement to become an accessible part of that day. We help adults explain both what to do and what to notice while doing it.

01

Break up long periods of sitting

Give children a chance to change position and move between everyday activities.

02

Notice how the body moves

Explore how the legs and back contribute to a movement, with attention to technique.

03

Build a habit together

A teacher or parent supports the child. Regular practice starts with simple, understandable actions.

Exercises backed by practical experience

Alexander
Vladimirovich Golubin

Professional rehabilitation specialist, owner and lead specialist at the Gelfer Spine and Joint Recovery Centre in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

Alexander Golubin designed all the exercises in these movement sessions. His approach teaches quality of movement: noticing the back, shoulder blades and hips, feeling support through the feet and gradually building movement habits.

The video character demonstrates the movement. A teacher or parent guides the child and follows the explanations provided with each exercise.

The author’s approach

Learn the movement.
Learn to feel it.

Alexander Golubin’s approach focuses on learning movement habits. We begin with introductory exercises and gradually develop the tasks while keeping attention on technique.

◎

Notice

Pay attention to the back muscles and what is happening in the body as you move.

↗

Connect

Learn to use the legs and back muscles together when applying effort, without placing the whole action on the shoulders.

✳

Practise

Return to familiar movements. Add new tasks gradually as the previous step becomes clear.

How the author explains the learning goal

Squats near a wall

A core teaching exercise for learning to notice the work of the deep back muscles.

How the author explains the learning goal

Standing wall push-ups

Teach children to build effort through the legs and back muscles, rather than using the shoulders alone.

These examples explain the method. Age-appropriate exercises, technique and workload should be agreed with the programme’s author.

For the adults beside them

One thoughtful idea.
At school and at home.

You do not need to invent exercises yourself. Start with clear materials and guidance on how to use them.

Clear answers

What you need to know

Is it really free?

Yes. The charitable foundation provides materials and participation without payment, a course purchase or a required donation.

Is this a movement break or rehabilitation?

This initiative focuses on movement activity and learning technique. A movement break is an accessible introduction. It does not replace individual rehabilitation or a medical consultation.

What ages are the exercises for?

We clarify the children’s ages, experience and session conditions before they begin. We do not offer the same workload to everyone. If there is pain, an injury or restricted movement, discuss participation with an appropriate specialist.

Do children need high-intensity Tabata?

No. The interval timer helps organise activity and pauses. Speed and high intensity are not the goal of the author’s approach. The introductory sessions use 20 seconds of movement and 10 seconds of rest. Move at a comfortable pace and pay attention to technique.

Are there videos and a platform?

Yes. Videos and programmes are available in HELFER. We’ll expand the programmes weekly for active participants and in response to chat requests. You can explore the demo without registering. The photographs on this page illustrate movement activity; they are not instructions for the author’s exercises.
